Aims and Scopes

Microgrids and Distributed Energy Systems (MaDES) is a peer-reviewed journal committed to expanding the frontiers of knowledge and industry in advanced energy systems. The journal focuses on theoretical, experimental, and applied studies in the fields of microgrids and energy conversion within distributed systems.

MaDES provides a platform for publishing innovative research, interdisciplinary studies, and emerging technologies that contribute to the development of sustainable, intelligent, and resilient energy infrastructures.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, analysis, and operation of microgrids
  • Novel technologies in electrical and thermal energy conversion
  • Distributed generation and renewable energy sources
  • Intelligent energy management and control in microgrids
  • Sustainability, reliability, and resilience of distributed systems
  • Modeling and simulation of advanced energy systems
  • IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) applications in microgrids
  • Policy, economics, and business models for distributed energy

MaDES aims to bridge the gap between researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers in the domains of renewable energy and smart grids, providing a forum for idea exchange, high-quality scholarship, and rigorous peer review.
